Medal of the Academic Excellency

The Medal of the Academic Excellency is a single-rank student award given by the Principals of Highland Prince Academy de Mexico Junior High.
It is awarded upon students who have achieved an outstanding performance at school or at any event in which they represented it.
It consists of a blue-ribbon medal showing on the front face an academic emblem consisting two books and a torch. On the back face appears the school's coat of arms and the legend Excelencia Academica followed by the years of the period on which is awarded.
Membership
The medal is awarded annually for one school period, comprehending from September of each year to July of the next year. The last period on which it was awarded was 2006-2007.
It is granted to outstanding students who have had an extraordinary or excelling performance during that period. Criteria for awarding the medal is mostly based on bimonthly and year grades, and also if the student has participated in any foreign academic or sport events.
It may be re-awarded to same students every year if qualifying.
Associated Student Body members
The medal is usually granted to the members of the school's ASB Committee, since they are nearly always outstanding students. The medal is awarded then for the the schoolar period on which they serve, at the beginning of their term, and as a symbol of their position in the case of the President and the Vicepresident, and it is again awarded at the end of their term, now representing their outstanding performance as students, and includes a speech from the Academic Principal and a member of the Sociedad de Alumnos Committee.
