Matt Waine

Matt Waine is an Irish Socialist Party county councillor in Fingal County Council representing the Castleknock ward. Matt Waine was co-opted to the council seat of Joe Higgins on 14 July 2009 following his election as MEP. He was a supporter of the Thomas Cook workers in thier occupation of their Grafton Street store following compulsary redundancies. Waine was arrested alongside these workers but was released later the same day. Matt Waine has been an activist in the Socialist Party since 1998 and worked as a youth organiser for the party. He is originally from the Lohunda area of the Castleknock ward and was active in the anti-bin charges campaign. |
