College career

2013 season
In 2013, due to a large personnel loss at the wide receiver position for the Vols from the previous season, which included losing future NFL players Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter, North started eleven games in his true freshman season. He became the Vols' first true freshman to start at wide receiver in a season opener since Marsalis Teague in the 2009 season. He had four catches for 87 yards in a loss at #1 Alabama. He had his first career 100-yard game with three catches for 102 yards against #11 South Carolina. He made the SportsCenter Top 10 with 39-yard one-handed grab in that game. The play proved vital in Tennessee's 23-21 upset of South Carolina. In the 2013 season, he finished second on the team with 38 catches for team-best 496 yards with one touchdown.
2014 season
In 2014, as a sophomore, North started ten games. He had his first career multi-touchdown game against Arkansas State in the second game of the season. He finished fourth on the team in catches with 30, second in receiving yards with 320, and tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns with four. He missed the final two games of the season due to injury.
2015 season
In 2015, North appeared in seven games. He suffered through some injuries in the 2015 season and did not put together the receiving volume from his first two seasons.
North decided to forego his senior season at the University of Tennessee and entered the 2016 NFL Draft.
Professional career
North was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft. He was waived/injured by the Rams on August 30, 2016 and was placed on injured reserve, where he spent his entire rookie season.
On June 20, 2017, North was waived by the Rams.
