Eric B Kline

Eric “EK” Bradly Kline (born November 10, 1992) was a high school and college football player. He was a wide receiver during high school, and then went on to play quarterback at both South Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth respectively.
Early Years
Kline was born in Coon Rapids, MN to parents Lynne and Brad. He is an only child. In 2011 he graduated from Blaine Senior High School (Blaine, MN). He began playing football in the 2nd grade and was always surrounded by football. Some of his earliest memories are of Vikings games. He cites Randy Moss as an icon as well as favorite player of his.
High School Athletic Years
Kline played football for Blaine Senior High School, coached by Shannon Gerrety. Kline made the varsity football team during his freshman year of high school, although he did not play out on the field until his sophomore year. He was a wide receiver.
Kline played 10 games during his sophomore year with 25 receptions. He made a total of 216 receiving yards and averaged 8.6 yards per catch. Additionally, he had 21.6 receiving yards per game and scored 1 receiving touchdown.

During his junior year, he played 10 games with 181 completions. He had 229 passing attempts and ran a total of 1,658 yards. He had a completion percentage of .790 while averaging 9.2 yards per completion. Kline had 165.8 passing yards per game, scored 16 touchdowns, and had 3 passing interceptions. He carried the ball 153 times for 743 yards and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry and 74.3 yards per game. He had 764 all-purpose yards.

During his senior year, he played 11 games with 156 completions. He had 211 passing attempts and ran a total of 2,002 yards. His completion percentage was .739 while averaging 12.8 yards per completion. Kline had 182.0 passing yards per game, scored 10 touchdowns, and had 4 passing interceptions. He carried the ball 242 times for 1,086 yards and 21 touchdowns. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry and 98.7 yards per game. He had 1,138 all-purpose yards. In 2010, Kline earned the Minneapolis Star Tribune Player and Gatorade Player of The Year honors, along with earning a spot on the All-State Selection by the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

In addition to football, Kline played basketball and participated in track throughout his high school years.
College Athletic Years
In the fall of 2011, Kline began attending South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD). Attending South Dakota State University gave him an opportunity to play earlier than other schools and he loved the city, program, and coaches. Although he immediately joined the team he didn’t play right away. Rather, he redshirted his first season, practicing but not appearing on the field.

While playing for SDSU, Kline completed 4 of his 11 pass attempts for a total of 32 yards, and had 6 rushes for 24 yards.

In 2013, Kline left South Dakota State University and he returned back to his home state of Minnesota where he transferred to the University of Minnesota Duluth (Duluth, MN). He continued to play football until 2014. During the 2013 football season at UMD, Kline passed 14 of his 19 pass attempts for a total of 153 yards. He made 2 touchdowns. He had 20 rushing attempts at 49 yards. He made 3 touchdowns.

During the 2014 football season, he passed 6 of his 11 pass attempts for a total of 85 yards and made 3 touchdowns. He had 7 rushing attempts at 18 yards, and made 0 touchdowns.

Due to an injury, Kline did not play football during his senior year at UMD. It was at this point that he chose to concentrate on academics and a life after football. In 2016, he graduated with a degree in Marketing and Management of Information Systems.
Personal Life Post-College
Today, Kline resides in Utah where he works at a software startup company. Other than passively watching football, the sport not longer plays a huge role in his life. He enjoys having a break from it as the majority of his life was heavily dedicated to the sport.
