Mark Houlahan (born 1960) MA (1983) Auck, PhD Toronto is a New Zealand writer, literary critic, actor and academic who is an expert on seventeenth-century English literature. He spent his childhood in Auckland and was educated at St Peter's College, Auckland, and the University of Auckland. He obtained a doctorate at the University of Toronto and lectured in Hamilton, Ontario and Waterloo, Ontario. He is Senior Lecturer in English at Waikato University (in another Hamilton) on and, whenever possible, performs in plays in Medieval, Renaissance, and Modern theatre. His research interests are Apocalypse, Shakespeare, Renaissance drama, Milton, English Civil War print culture, New Zealand print culture.
