Margaret Swensen Lifferth (born March 30, 1947) was a counselor to Cheryl C. Lant in the general presidency of the Primary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2005 to 2010. Margaret Swensen was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Provo, Utah. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English and married Dennis Lifferth in the Salt Lake Temple in 1968. They are the parents of seven children. At the April 2005 general conference, Lifferth was accepted by the church as the first counselor of Cheryl C. Lant in the general presidency of the Primary. She was released at the April 2010 General Conference.<ref name=LDS/> From 2010 to 2013, Lifferth served in Melbourne, Australia with her husband, who was a mission president for the LDS Church.
