James B. Martino

James Boyd Martino (born March 28, 1951) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2009.
Background
Martino was born in Denton, Texas. As a young man, he served as a LDS Church missionary in the Guatemala-El Salvador Mission.
Martino has a bachelor's degree in business from Brigham Young University. In April 2008, he was called to be an area seventy in the , serving in the church's North America Southwest Area. In April 2009, he was called to full-time church service as a general authority and member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy. He began service as a counselor in the presidency of the church's Central America Area in August 2009 and became president of the area three years later. Upon his release from the area presidency assignment on August 1, 2013, he returned to church headquarters, where he continues to fill assignments as directed.
