A. History of the School
Education plays a vital role in creating and accelerating changes. Each generation is taught in the school keeping face with the change in Society. They have made possible changes in the barrio and have reached out and helped in the development project.
Realizing the importance of education and considering the distance of the barrio from the town proper, the people felt that there is a need to have a school in their place. They made proper representation to the authorities concerned and their request came in reality in 1939.
The first classroom was in the house of Eladio Mesa. Two Grade One classes went into operation on the double single session scheme with two female teachers from Tipas Taguig, Rizal.
In 1941, the Second World War broke out, so classes was suspended and resumed after the liberation. Classes was then held in the house of Francisco Figura.
In the year 1947, a 500 sq. m. school site was acquired through the initial donation of Php 500.00 by the barrio people and the additional 200 sq.m. was secured through donations. Through the cooperative efforts and strong determination of the barrio people, they constructed two classrooms out of bamboos and cogon. Two multigrade classes were opened.
The next school year 1949-1950, the Magsaysay Type Building with two classrooms was constructed through the representation made by the barrio people.
During the incumbency of Mayor Pedro T. Fineza, a two-room Fineza Type Building was constructed.
In the mid 60’s, one unit three-room Marcos Type Building was constructed and it is use up to the present.
From School Year 1939-1940 up to 1975-1976, the school was under the administration and supervision of the school head of Tatala Elementary School, to wit: Mrs. Aida Arada, Mr. Publeo Buenaventura, Mrs. Lucita Manuson, Mr. Diego Ramos respectively.
With the creation of new complete elementary school named Casimiro Ynares Elementary School within the same barangay, school enrolment decreased and the number of teachers too at Mahabang Parang Elementary School. This was in the School Year 1976-1977 in the administration and supervision of Mrs. Joaquina Baranda, the head teacher of Casimiro Ynares Sr. Elementary School.
In School Year 1977-1978, Ricardo Alvarez was assigned and designated as the Teacher In-Charge of the school. On October 1978, a new Teacher In-Charge was appointed in the name of Demetrio G. Perdiguerra. In 1984-1986, Mrs. Lourdes V. Tubog was designated as Teacher In-Charge.
Miss Nolita S. Ferido headed the school in 1986-1987. It was followed by Ricardo De Guzman in 1987-1989. In 1989, Mrs. Felicidad M. Dikit headed the school, Mr. Romeo P. Tubog in 1991-2001, Mr. Armando A. Ponce in 2001-2003, Mr. Regalado A. Sanga in 2003-2007, Mrs. Lailani G. Cenidoza as Teacher In-Charge from January 9, 2007 to July 31, 2007 and Mr.CHESTER CARL SJ. CAMPO Principal September 03, 2007 up to present.
