Letha Raney Intermediate School

Raney Intermediate School is a middle school in Corona, California. It is named after Letha Raney who was the first principal of Corona Junior High. In 1894, Raney came with her parents from Oregon in a covered wagon to live in Corona. She graduated from Corona High School and then attended college at the University of Southern California. She became a teacher and then a principal.

Advanced Academic Programs- For Your Child I.B. - International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program is an outstanding international academic study program offered to honors students. Our I.B. program is affiliated with similar schools throughout the world. Honors Classes - Our Honors Program include classes that are designed to prepare students for high school, college and successful careers. Honor classes are offered in language arts, science and history. Honor students also take a high school level algebra class. Geometry is also available for honor students. Requirements: California Achievement Test scores 76% and G.P.A. of 3.0.
Fine Arts Activities- Include the opportunity for Raney students to participate in art, choral music, drama and symphonic band. Technological Studies - Computer Education, Wood Shop and Metal Shop.
Academic Teams - A family approach to learning is the basis of our school. Raney students are placed on academic teams each school year. The teams are a school within a school. Students have classes together with the same group of teachers and students throughout the year.
After School Activities - Over 50 different fun activities are offered to Raney students after school each year. A variety of other programs are offered at Raney Intermediate these include: California Junior Scholastic Honor Society, AVID, Spelling Bee, Science Fair, History Day, Geography Bee, Raney Yearbook, Math Field Day, essay contests and U.C. Irvine Academic Talent Search.
