Lucas Carpenter is an American singer-songwriter. Since 2000, he has released three albums and is currently working on his fourth entitled The Pixelated Path. He has also released albums of rare, live and acoustic songs. Lucas has enjoyed great success in the college and coffeehouse circuits, especially in and around his hometown in north central Pennsylvania thanks mostly to word of mouth. He is currently unsigned by any labels and produces albums independently.
Biography Lucas Carpenter was born in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. He attended Jersey Shore Area Senior High School, but graduated from Williamsport Area High School. His first album, Sun Bleached Windowpane, was realized while still in school. Growing up in central Pennsylvania as a self-appointed "art kid", Lucas wrote music about fitting in, love, and encouraging originality. He later attended and graduated from Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he won songwriting contests in 2004, 2005, and 2006. While there, he recorded with Bill Scheniman (Mick Jagger, Bon Jovi). He used the phrase "art kid" as an inspiration for his third album Art Kids From the Country, which includes a single by the same name.
From 2006-2007, Lucas became a literal one-man-band with the help of a live looping system. In his show he creates these loops by recording and layering multiple instrument parts (including guitar, harmony vocals, tin whistle, and even beatboxing) live onstage. During this time he has played at 150 colleges, clubs, festivals, and other venues.
Carpenter aspires to make the kind of music that people wind up humming or singing in the shower the following morning. He blends almost every possible form of music to create a unique style to capture listeners from all walks of life. Within his music, Lucas tries implementing a certain style of poetry that everyone can relate to. His music often contains sarcasm, humor, sincerity, and honesty as a way to connect with listeners.
