Nanooze

Nanooze! is a science web magazine for kids about the latest scientific research developments and the wide applications of nanotechnology. Supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the National Nanoscale Infrastructure Network (NNIN) and the Cornell Nanoscale Science and Technology Facility (CNF), the Nanooze! was officially launched on June 12, 2006 as a part of an outreach and science eduacation initiative. The design, programming, and hosting of the website is conducted through Spider Graphics Corporation. The content of Nanooze!, published in English and Spanish. It is updated regularly with news and articles about science and nanotechnology.

Articles
The articles on Nanooze! are updated quarterly, and encompass a wide array of science and nanotechnology topics. A basic nanotechnology primer introduces the reader to the definition of a nanometer, a brief history of nanotechnology, and things that are too small to see by naked eye, such as computer chip transistors.

Weblog
The Nanooze! weblog is updated weekly and covers the most recent news and scientific developments in the field of nanotechnology. These summarized bits of news can give the reader a good overview of the impact of nanotechnology in the various fields of medicine, space exploration, military defense, leisure entertainment, and even daily household products.

Games
Nanooze! has collaborated with GDIAC to produce an education-based game, Nanocure, where players answer science multiple-choice questions and attempt to destroy viruses with different types of nanobots in this online flash-based game.

Editorial Board
The Nanooze! editorial board consists of elementary school teachers, high school teachers, and college professors that help in writing articles and organizing the site content. The Nanooze! staff maintains and updates the website, and translators from all around the world help translate the site content into Spanish and Portuguese.
