Larry Tidwell

Larry Tidwell is a college Women's Basketball coach. Tidwell was appointed as the Interm Athletic Director of the Lamar University Cardinals in June of 2010 after current Athletic Director Billy Tubbs announced his resignation. Tidwell was an assistant at TCU Horned Frogs before becoming the Lady Cardinals head coach in 2007. He gained immediate praise from his effort at Lamar by advancing to the conference tournament his first year. His 2009-2010 season was marked by a conference title and a trip to the Big Dance where the cardinals played WVU and lost. Tidwell and his Lady Cardinals have been invited to the 2010 WNIT.
Coaching
At TCU Tidwell was instrumental in getting their 2000 recruiting class which was a top ranked class. While recruiting and coaching for TCU, TCU never missed the NCAA tournament, having 7 straight seasons of advancement into the tournament. Since his hire at Lamar University in 2007 the team has always made the conference tournament.
Athletic Director
Tidwell's appointment as Interim Athletic Director for the Lamar Cardinals is notable because the University is in the midst of restoring its Football program which will bring much notoriety to his position.
