Bill Busch is the safeties coach of the Wisconsin Badgers football team. Biography A native of Pender, Nebraska, Busch was born on April 27, 1965 in O'Neill, Nebraska. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1988, where he played wide receiver on the football team. In 1990, he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Coaching career Busch began coaching in 1989 as a graduate assistant and defensive ends coach at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. From 1990 to 1993, he served as a graduate assistant and defensive backs coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The following year, he was a graduate assistant with the Badgers. In 1995, Busch served as defensive backs coach of the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks before serving as co-defensive coordinator the following season. From 1997 to 2000, he was defensive backs coach of the New Mexico State Aggies. Busch then spent two seasons as the safeties coach of the Utah Utes before serving one season as the defensive backs coach. From 2004 to 2007, Busch was again a member of the Cornhuskers staff, coaching outside linebackers and safeties, also serving as special teams coordinator. He later served as defensive coordinator, associate head coach and special teams coordinator of the Utah State Aggies. Busch assumed his current position in 2013.
