L. W. Cross Middle School

Cross Middle School is a middle school in the Amphitheater School District located northwest of Tucson, Arizona, in Oro Valley. Cross was founded in 1974, named in honor of former Amphitheater School District superintendent Lawrence W. Cross. It serves a large student population.
Cross students statistically score well above average in standardized test administrations conducted by the Arizona Department of Education. The school is also regularly recognized as "Excelling" by the State, ranking in the top 15% in Arizona.
Cross students are promoted to Canyon del Oro High School or Amphitheater High School.
Students of Cross Middle School come from four main elementary schools: Harelson, Donaldson, Mesa Verde, Copper Creek and Lulu Walker.
Cross Middle School employs many excellent teachers, and has a variety of advanced courses, including Spanish I, Algebra I, and Geometry. It provides an environment that nurtures artistic, musical, and athletic talents.
Cross' class on musical theater has a production each year, in which all grades are able to participate. The musical of the 2009/2010 school year is "High School Musical Jr." Parents participate in the making of these musicals, as well as students.
Cross posts grades online. All students have a password that they use to access grades for each of their classes.
The principal of Cross is Kevin Corner. He was recently promoted following the resignation of Mr. Robert Vinyard.
