Kyler Burke

Kyler Brandon Burke (born April 20, 1988) is an American minor league baseball player who is a free agent. He formerly played for the San Diego Padres organization, who selected him as the thirty-fifth overall pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. The Padres traded Burke, along with Rob Bowen, to the Cubs in exchange for Michael Barrett and a cash settlement. Before the 2011 season started Burke switched from outfield to pitching and was assigned to the Class A Boise Hawks of the Northwest League to work on his pitching mechanics. He finished the year with a 2.86 ERA in 44.0 innings pitched entirely in relief duty.
Prior to playing with the Hawks, Burke played with the Arizona Padres (Arizona League) and Fort Wayne Wizards (Midwest League). He attended Ooltewah High School in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
