Nicholas Tyson (born January 13, 1988) is a free agent minor league baseball pitcher and a 2006 graduate of Timber Creek Regional High School. The then 6'2", 175 lb. (as listed by MLB.com's 2006 Draft Tracker) Tyson was drafted with the 16th pick of the 32nd round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. MiLB.com lists Tyson at 6'3" and 185 pounds. Tyson is now officially listed at 6'3" and 185 lbs. by MiLB.com. Minor league Nicholas "Nick" Tyson made his minor league debut with the Pioneer Baseball League's Northern Division Helena Brewers on June 23, 2007 at the team's home field at Kindrick Stadium in Helena, Montana. His final appearance of 2007 was on September 5, 2007. In his seventeen appearances in 2007, Tyson went 4-1 with a 2.48 ERA and two saves, holding opponents to a .196 batting average. Tyson started three games during the season, all of which were victories, finishing with a 2.81 ERA as a starter. Tyson was rated by Baseball America as the Brewers pitching prospect with the Best Curveball. In 2008, Tyson began the season playing with the West Virginia Power, a Class A affiliate of the South Atlantic League. Tyson pitched sixteen games and 34 innings with the team, finishing with a 2-2 record and 8.74 ERA. He returned to the Helena Brewers, finishing a 1-2 record and an ERA of 3.10. In 2009, Tyson pitched with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. In 38 games, Tyson has a 4-5 record with an ERA of 3.29 in 63 innings of work. On May 17, 2009, Tyson recorded his first save of the year, pitching 2 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just a single hit and one strikeout. Tyson also started one game that season. In 2010, Tyson was pitching with the Brevard County Manatees a Class A Advanced team from the Florida State League. He pitched only fives games. In his five appearances, Tyson accumulated 6.2 innings pitched with an ERA of 6.29. He struck out six batters and walked one. His last outing on April 22, 2010 was his best of the season, allowing two hits, and striking out three in two innings of work.
