KOSPINT or Kolej Sains Pendidikan Islam Negeri Terengganu is the Fully Residential School under Terengganu State Government. Built on 17 Hectare of green land in Serada, Kuala Terengganu. It 18KM from Kuala Terengganu town. Kolej Sains Pendidikan Islam Negeri Terengganu (KOSPINT) have being award as one of Bestari School (Intelligent School) equipped with high technology education that connected to internet access.
The idea of KOSPINT were motivated by JKKK with cooperation from UMNO Dun Serada on 1986. It born with combination of ideas from JKKK Cawangan Pulau Manis, Banggol Mempelam, Banggol Tok Ku, Banggol Lalang, Banggol Katong, Kampong Baru, Serada and many more. The outcome was 1 community built where the head was former Y.B ADUN Serada, Y.B. Tuan Haji Yusof Musa with Tuan Haji Ismail Embong as the secretariat.
In 1988, one paperwork submitted to State Government to apply for Sekolah Agama Kerajaan Negeri build on the said 17 hectare land. Government already agreed on the budget for the school construction in early 1995 and the construction started on November 1995.
After the constructions finish, Terengganu Religion Department from Education sector (Jabatan Hal Ehwal Agama Terengganu, Bahagian Pendidikan) submitted one more paperwork to State Government for proposing this new school as Bestari School, where the student were selected from the best that got 4A's in UPSR (Ujian Pernilaian Sekolah Rendah) exam. Head of Islamic Community (Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Agama Islam), Y.B Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Yusof bin Mohamad Noor with suppoerted by Terengganu Chief Minister decided to name the school as KOSPINT or Kolej Sains Pendidikan Islam Negeri Terengganu.
On 8 June 1997, the dream have come true. 265 students registered as the first batch student with supported by 26 teachers as the KOSPINT back bone. On 23 July 2000, the KOSPINT history once again written. Duli Yang Maha Mulia Al-Wathiku Billah Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin with Tuanku Permaisuri Nur Zahirah attending KOSPINT Official Launching Ceremony. He escorted by Chief Minister of Terengganu, Tuan Guru Haji Hadi Awang with Terengganu excoriates and other VIPs. Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin spend his time about 4 hour to visit this school & launch the opening ceremony officially.
