Keep It Trill

KeepItTrill is a hip hop news website. Christopher McNutt and Adrian Balas founded the website in 2008. KeepItTrill offers current news for hip-hop, music downloads, music videos and a social forum for users to interact. At over 40 thousand visitors for the month of July 2008, KeepItTrill is one the fastest growing hip hop websites in the world.
History
Longtime friends Christopher McNutt (born Dallas, Texas) and Adrian Balas ( born Atlanta, Georgia)decided to expand upon their company, Trill Promotions Group LLC, and revamp their website into the next big hip-hop media outlet. In April 2008, they launched the first version of KeepItTrill.com (formerly trillpromotions.com , which was only a service based website). Presently, the website is already on version three, with automatically updated RSS feeds from their news blogs and forum. They have also expanded the site to included album reviews and event coverage of music conferences and various industry related venues. The site has a primary focus on news in Southern Hip-hop, with an emphasis on Bun B and the late Pimp C of UGK. Chris has had ties with Pimp C since November of 2006, shortly before he formed Trill Promotions.

Controversy
KeepItTrill saw its first main-stream exposure On July 19 2008 when they released a full photo of Rick Ross in a correctional officer uniform. Major hip-hop media outlets such as sohh.com , mediattakeout.com and 50 Cent's thisis50.com picked up on the story. Two days later, the owner of KeepItTrill spoke with TheSmokingGun.com about the incident. Soon after the conversation, they released concrete evidence of the rapper being a corrections officer by exposing his dates of employment, as well as pay rate changes.
