Kap Slap

Jared Lucas, (born October 4, 1989), better known by his stage name Kap Slap, is an American DJ and music producer based near New York City. Originally, he gained popularity from college students because of his EDM/top 40 bootlegs. He has released various mixes and an original track. His song "Let It All Out" went #17 on the iTunes dance charts and has over 1 million plays online.Making mashups originally started as a hobby for Jared, but by the end of his Junior year in 2011, he finished a 25 show tour while balancing being a student. This instant success posed a serious question for Jared. He had to decide whether or not to continue the typical path of being a student, or travel down an unfamiliar road through an unknown industry. He decided to put his full efforts into his passion of production and DJing.
Popular Releases
In January of 2015, Kap Slap released his first single "Let it All Out," on Ultra Music featuring the vocals of Angelika Vee. In the weeks following it's release, "Let it All Out" was played in the weekly rotation on XM Satellite Radio via . It went #17 on the ITunes dance charts, as has over 1 million plays on SoundCloud.
Uploaded to SoundCloud in March of 2015, Kap Slap's "Spring Break Mix 2015," is his most popular mix with over 3 million plays. The mix features a combination of upbeat House music, with Trap music among other genres. It also feature popular songs such as "I Want you To Know" by and Selena Gomez, "Lean On" by Major Lazer, and "Runaway" by Galantis among others.
Similarly, uploaded in June of 2015, Kap Slap's "Summer Mix 2015" was well received by his fans, reaching over 1 million plays between July and August. The mix features mashups and remixes of popular songs such as "Cheerleader" by OMI, "I Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd, "How Deep is Your Love" by Calvin Harris and more.
In October of 2015, Kap Slap released his annual "Back to School Mix." Following his quarterly release of mixes, including his Spring and Summer mix series, Kap Slap's Back to School Mix features his signature mashup style within an hour long mix.
Early Life
Having a sister with cerebral palsy and a mother who passed away from breast cancer, caused Jared to mature at an early age. He turned to music as an outlet for his creativity, mastering various instruments including the guitar, bass, and drums. Due to space limitations while pursuing his Integrated Business & Engineering degree at Lehigh University however, he was forced to bring this musical passion to the virtual world.
In addition to traveling on his own tours, Kap Slap has been a featured DJ at music festivals. Kap Slap's festival performances include , Paradiso Festival, and Counterpoint Festival.<ref name=":1" />
