K-1 New South Wales 2000

K-1 New South Wales 2000 was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 organization. It was an elimination tournament involving four fighters based in New South Wales, Australia, with all bouts being fought under K-1 Rules (100 kg/156-220 lbs). It would also act as a preliminary qualifying tournament for the following years K-1 World Grand Prix 2001. As well as tournament bouts there were also a number of Australian and Oceania title fights including a WKBF South Pacific Super Lightweight Title fight between Kristian Storek and Jordan Tai, all fought under Thai Rules.
The tournament winner was Auckland Aumitagi who defeated Hape Nagaronoa in the final by third round decision. As a result of his victory Auckland Aumitagi was supposed to qualify for the forthcoming K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 Preliminary Melbourne but would be unable to participate due to injury - he would be replaced by K-1 Oceania Star Wars 2000 semi finalist Paul Robinson. The event was held at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia on Sunday, October 22, 2000.
