K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 in Las Vegas I

K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 in Las Vegas I also known as Battle at the Bellagio II was a kickboxing event promoted by K-1 USA in association with K-1. The event was held at The Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Friday, April 30, 2004. It was a preliminary qualifying tournament for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 and involved ten fighters (two being reservists) with all bouts being fought under K-1 Rules (100 kg/156-220 lbs). Most of the fighters were based in North America but two were invitees from Japan.
As well as tournament bouts there were also a couple of 'Super Fights' featuring K-1 fighters such as Gary Goodridge and Bob Sapp, fought under K-1 Rules, and an ISKA Light Heavyweight Super Fight between Cung Le and Brian Warren, fought under San Shou Rules. In total there were sixteen fighters at the event, representing six countries.
The tournament winner was Michael McDonald who won his third K-1 Las Vegas title by defeated Dewey Cooper in the final by third round unanimous decision. As a result of his victory Michael McDonald would qualify for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 Final Elimination.
