John R Kennard

John Richard Kennard (; born August 1953) is an English educationalist. He is the current Principal of St. Paul's College, Hong Kong and Principal-elect of The British School, Warsaw.
Biography
Born in Surrey, England, Kennard attended Mundella Primary School, Folkestone, Kent and received his secondary education at Harvey Grammar School, Folkestone, Kent and in King's Lynn, Norfolk. He was awarded a Kingsley Fairbridge Society scholarship to pursue university studies at the University of Western Australia in 1972. Kennard received a Bachelor of Arts (hons)(1975), Master of Arts (1977), Master of Education (1987) and PhD (1998) from the University of Western Australia.
Prior to arriving in Hong Kong, Kennard's previous schools were: St. Andrew's Grammar School, Perth, Australia (2002-2005), John Wollaston Anglican School, Perth, Australia (1997-2001), Wesley College, Perth, Australia (1977-1980, 1983-1996), The Leys School, Cambridge, England (1981-1982) and Hale School, Perth, Australia (1977). He succeeded Timothy Ha as the Principal of St. Paul's College, Hong Kong on March 1, 2006.
Kennard is a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) (2002) and served on its National Council for many years. He is a Vice President and Trustee of the International Boys' Schools Coalition (IBSC) (2007-2017) and represents the interests of boys' schools in the Far East. During his principalship of St. Paul's College, Kennard is a member of the Court of the University of Hong Kong and the Chair of the Grant Schools Council of Hong Kong.
On May 14, 2014 it was announced that Kennard would leave St. Paul's at the end of August after serving the college for 8.5 years. The College Council thanked Kennard for his devotion in enhancing the College's facilities and expanding St. Paul's Global Network. He would depart for Warsaw, Poland to assume the post of Principal of The British School, Warsaw.
