S. V. Ramani

S V Ramani has been a member of the Indian National Congress since 1974. He is the party's candidate for for the 2014 Lok Sabha Election. He was appointed as the National Media Co-ordinator on 31 July by AICC communication head Ajay Maken.
Born in the holy town of Tiruvannamalai in 1957, his origins can be traced to a small village called Vembi in the Arcot district. Ramani did his schooling in a number of different cities including Tiruvannamalai, and did his engineering from Delhi College of Engineering.
Family and personal Life
Born in a Tamil Brahmin family to an Air Force officer from the North Arcot district, he is the eldest brother of a Supreme Court lawyer, an education sector professional, and an Army brigadier who was awarded a Vir Chakra for the Kargil War.
