Richard Lambert Fearby

Richard Lambert Fearby was the Mayor of Castle Morpeth from 1919-1920.
Birth and Family
Born on 18 May 1859 in Market Weighton, near Hull, to parents Jane Lambert and Thomas Fearby. His father was originally from Strensall. Richard Lambert Fearby was baptized in the Church of St Mary Bishophill Junior in York on June 12, 1859.
Career
Shortly after leaving school in 1887 (aged 18), he became a railway clerk. It was not until 1913 when he became a successful MP within North Yorkshire. Shortly after the birth of his son, Lawrence, R.L Fearby (he also had a daughter, Eladys) moved north to Morpeth, Northumberland where he worked on the GNR lines. His son was educated at the King Edward VI Grammar School, Morpeth. In 1919, he became Mayor of Castle Morpeth and held this position for a year until 1920. During this time he organized the town's mourning following WWI.
It seems that after his term as Mayor ended, he returned to the railways.
Death
R.L Fearby died after 1941.
