Jochen Schneider (football executive)

Jochen Schneider (born September 13, 1970) is a German football executive currently serving as Head of Sport for the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.
Career
Stuttgart
Schneider began his career in football at Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart as an assistant to Head of Sport Rolf Rüssmann. In 2004, he was promoted to Sporting Director, a position he held while Stuttgart won the 2006-07 Bundesliga. In 2010, Schneider negotiated Horst Heldt's move from Stuttgart to FC Schalke. In 2014, Schneider appointed Huub Stevens as head coach of the reds.
RB Leipzig
Schneider joined Red Bull in 2015, assuming the role of Coordinator Sport Global Soccer. In June 2017, he was promoted to Head of Sport and Internationalization for RB Leipzig. In 2019 he facilitated the transfer of midfielder Tyler Adams from the New York Red Bulls to Leipzig.
Schalke
Schneider joined FC Schalke 04 as Head of Sport and Communication on February 26, 2019, replacing Christian Heidel. On February 16, 2021, after consecutive 4 goal losses to Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart, Schalke announced that Schneider and the club had mutually agreed to part ways.
New York Red Bulls
On June 10, 2022, the New York Red Bulls announced that Schneider would join the club as Head of Sport as the successor to Kevin Thelwell.
