Carlos Corberán Vallet (born 7 April 1983) is a Spanish football coach, currently holds a dual role as First Team Coach at English club Leeds United and Head Coach of Leeds United's Under 23's. He has previously been a Head Coach of Doxa and Ermis in the Cypriot First Division. Playing Career Corberán started his playing career at home town club Valencia CF, however at the age of 23, after playing no higher professionally than the Segunda División B in Spain, Corberán decided to retire as a player as he wanted to pursue his passion for coaching. Coaching Career He began his coaching career at 26 years old, and started at Villarreal CF under Head Coach Juan Carlos Fernandez before being the Assistant to Manuel Pellegrini and working alongside the likes of other former Villarreal CF Managers Ernesto Valverde, Juan Carlos Garrido and Miguel Ángel Lotina. In February 2012, Corberán signed for Saudi Arabia team Al-Ittihad alongside Head Coach Raúl Caneda after Pep Guardiola's recommendation of Corberán to the Arab team. Whilst at the club, he was part of the management team who helped get the club to the semifinals of the ACL. On 21 June 2017, he was announced as the new Leeds United Under 23's Manager replacing the departed Jason Blunt. After the appointment of new Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa in June 2018, Corberán was promoted to the First Team Coach as well as continuing his role as the Head Coach of the Under 23's. In October 2018, Corberán now as part of Bielsa's backroom staff for the 1st team and still the Under 23 Head Coach, Corberán was hailed as 'very talented' by Bielsa, with Biela proclaiming he values Corberán's opinion 'more than his own'. Corberáns side won the PDL Northern League 2018/19 Season by winning the league, they then became the national Professional Development League Champions by beating Birmingham City in the final. In June 2019, it was reported that Corberán would be offered the Head Coach job at Spanish side Cultural Leonesa but Corberán decided to stay at Leeds to remain under Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa.
