Jesse Rodriguez is a New York-based television producer for MSNBC, where he is the cable news network's Head of Booking. Previously Rodriguez was Senior Producer for the MSNBC show Morning Joe, where he was responsible for booking guests to join Joe Scarborough discussing the news of the day in a panel format with co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist. Rodriguez first producer role was on MSNBC's The Dylan Ratigan Show. His first job in 30 Rock was as an Assignment Editor for NBC News. Prior to NBC, Rodriguez was with CBS Television at WFOR-TV as the station's weeknight assignment editor. Rodriguez was instrumental in breaking the news of Fidel Castro's transfer of power to his brother in the Summer of 2006. His tip led to WFOR being the first English based media organization to break the story. The station won an Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of the event. Rodriguez also covered countless hurricanes while at the station. Rodriguez previously got his start at Miami's WSVN-TV. Rodriguez was awarded the National Hispanic Heritage Youth Award for Journalism in 2002, presented by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. Rodriguez attended Florida International University and South Miami High School and is of Cuban descent.
