Jozef G. Lenders

Joe G. Lenders (born Jozef Gerard Lenders, Feb 9th 1957 in Oirsbeek, the Netherlands) ) is an award winning Director/Producer/Editor. Joe is best known as Director/Producer/Editor/Writer of The True Story of an American WWII Hero, Terror Inside and Bikini Beach Race]. Joe is also the founder of production companies like 21st Century Productions, VIDEX Corporation, Gulfcoast Film Partners, LLC and 1Pro Media, Inc. He was a media buyer, promotions strategist and publicity expert while at Family Group Broadcasting (WFTX) and started in television broadcasting as an assistant engineer and technical director. He has won Crystal Reel awards for Best Director and Best Editor, International Communicator Awards, International Telly Awards and more. He was the Filmmaking Judge of the 2013 International Telly Awards.
Early life
Joe started working as a radio personality in various radio stations in Miami area while he was a studying broadcasting in college. He became the house DJ at Scaramouche Disco, the world renowned discothèque, in 1977. This is where he met music and entertainment executives which helped him get his start in early music videos. He also worked as a recording studio engineer and music consultant. In 1983, he moved to SW Florida to work as a filmmaker and married his wife Lora shortly thereafter.
Career
Joe's first production company was 21st Century in Cape Coral, FL, which produced industrial films. Then from 1984 to 1989 Joe worked as the director of advertising at WFTX-TV (FOX). He founded VIDEX Corporation a film/video and animation production company in 1989. At VIDEX Joe worked with networks such ESPN, The Learning Channel, The Discovery Channel, PBS and many others. In 1997 Joe sold VIDEX Corporation to National Media Services, Inc and became the Vice-president and Creative Director of the National Media Services, Inc. He worked on projects for Fortune 500 companies like Coca-Cola, VISA, Chrysler, Mcdonald's, Subway and Breyers Ice Cream while at National Media Services, Inc.
In 2004 Joe left National Media Services, Inc. and founded 1Pro Media, Inc. 1Pro is a new media company that produced programming for government and public broadcasting. Joe also was General Manager for public television station Cape-TV Channel 98 in Cape Coral, FL as part of his responsibilities with 1Pro Media. Jozef has made many famous and award winning advertisements and works while in 1Pro Media.
Joe’s first feature film was produced in 1992 when Joe met Xavier Barquet and became Executive Producer and Co-Editor for Barquet's Bikini Beach Race (AKA Sex Puppets).
Joe’s next feature film project in 2000, was to provide finishing services for the Indie film 5 Chill Out by Director Rhonda Toppel and her company Topline Cinema, Inc.
In 2007 Joe made a breakthrough by writing and directing his own indie film Terror Inside starring Corey Feldman and Tanya Memme, which was produced by Joe's company, Gulfcoast Film Partners. Joe was Managing Director at GFP, which also distributes the film. Terror Inside won five Crystal Reel Awards presented by the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association including award for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Editor for a motion picture under one million dollars budget. It premiered at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival on November 3, 2008.
In 2009, he wrote, directed and edited a documentary entitled The Wolf Pack which won the Florida Motion Picture & Television Association Silver Reel award for Producer of Public Affairs Programming/Documentary, Educational Show and News Program.
In 2009, he wrote and directed the animated short film Time Squad Kids which won Florida Motion Picture & Television Association Crystal Reel award for Best Director and Best Animation of an Educational Program. It also helped him win an International Telly Award as Writer & Director and International Communicator Award as Writer & Director.
In 2012, he wrote, produced and directed an award winning documentary The True Story of an American WWII Hero. The documentary won a Crystal Reel Award for Best Documentary and Joe won the Crystal Reel Award for Best Director. The movie was one of the best television broadcast works of Joe and is widely recognized. The documentary also won an International Communicator Award.
In 2013, he worked as an executive producer for the short film No Way Out. He co-directed the movie with Jackie Gomez. The movie was nominated for Crystal Reel for Best Student Film.
To give back to the community and help start the next generation of Florida filmmakers, Joe taught high school filmmaking from 2011-2013 at Oasis High School. His work in the classroom and his ongoing seminars on film-making has helped many new filmmakers start their careers in motion pictures. He is also a movie critic and write movie reviews.
Business
In addition to his career in film, Joe founded Worldwide Beers, Inc. in 1991. Based in Pompano Beach, Florida, Worldwide Beers, Inc. imported and marketed Chinese Beers including their own brand Ming Lager.
In 1995, Joe Lenders founded Major Business Corporation which operated National Motor Company, a used vehicle dealership. The company offered sales, financing and warranties on pre-owned vehicles.
In 2013, Joe founded Blue Lion Probation which contracted with government to monitor offenders on house arrest through GPS Ankle Bracelets.
