Jefferson Speedway is a quarter mile progressively banked asphalt oval located in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Situated in the farmlands of Jefferson County, Jefferson Speedway has provided fans with some of the closest and most thrilling short track racing in the Midwest. They run every Saturday night from late April through late September. Featuring Bandits, Road Warriors, Internationals, Sportsmen, Hobby Stocks, and Late Models. Famous drivers to race at that track include Matt Kenseth, and Ty Majeski. Track History The track started as a quarter mile dirt oval in 1952 with nothing but cornfields as boundaries. There have been many improvements to the track. The track was paved in 1964. Then the track got a much needed update in 1981 from cornfields to concrete walls. The final addition was an electronic scoreboard in turn 3 and a shaded pavilion in turns 1 and 2 in 2000. The track has been owned by the Tucker family since 1968 and yearly maintains a fun and affordable racing venue for fans. They run 3 Tournaments of Destruction a year. They finish off the yearly points championship with the Wisconsin State Championships.
