Brushcreek Motorsports Complex

Brushcreek Motorsports Complex is a dirt racing venue located in Peebles, Ohio. Brushcreek was built by Tom Partin. Brushcreek holds three major races, the American Heritage Classic, the Billy Bob, and the Australian Firestorm. Brushcreek was named Motorsports Complex instead of Speedway or Raceway because when Brushcreek first opened it held lots of motorsport events.
Tom Partin
Tom Partin , who was born on December 12, 1963, raced a Late Model in the southern Ohio area and was shocked that some tracks had no score board or used transponders, this, along with thinking he could run a race track better, lead him to build the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in a bean field that was just below where he grew up. Drivers and race fans told him to build it big a build it fast, so he did. Tom build a 3/8 mile triangular shaped race track with 9, 12, and 15 degrees of banking. It opened on June 30th, 2000. Just a few weeks after it opened Brushcreek held the American Heritage Classic with don o'nell winning it. Eight years after opening Tom decided to change track configuration. He shortened the track to 3/10 of a mile. He left 9 degrees of banking in turns 1 and 2 and 15 degrees of banking in turns 3 and 4. Also that season he changed the American heritage race from a Late Model race to a Modified race. Steve Arpin won the first year of modified racing. After 10 years Tom has made his track well known for the smooth racing surface. Tom is said to have " The best kept secret" for working on his track. Tom will continue working his own track as long as he can and hopes someday they can make one race a very popular race to bring fans from across the country.
Former Events
Brushcreek has had many events from NTPA ( National Tractor Pullers Association ) to World of Outlaws races!
American Heritage Classic
Tom Partins first big race at Brushcreek was the American Heritage 101. This race was a 101 lap late model race, but the big twist was not that it was 101 laps but that they gave a new Harley-Davidson to the winner. The first driver to win was Don O'Neal. Then Brushcreek put in a new twist that fans got excited about. Brushcreek gave away a motorcycle to a fan. After 8 years of doing the race Tom Partin noticed that drivers were not attending in as great of numbers as before so he changed it to a modified race. The modified racers came in greater numbers each year. The three modified winners were Steve Arpin(who is a new winner in the ARCA Racing Series), Dave Hess Jr., and Don Adams. In 2010 (the 10th year of the track and the race) Brushcreek gave a 2010 V-Rod Motorcycle away to the winner! The winner was Chad Kinder in his #22 car. It is back on the same date for 2011, Aug. 5th and 6th.
Billy Bob
The Billy Bob race is a late model race that (in 2011 pays $20,000 to win) started out paying $5,000 to win and progressed $5,000 each year. The winners from last year are Eddie Carrier Jr and "Hot" Rod Conley. The Billy Bob had a new format in 2010 and is the same in 2011. The 100 lap race is split up into two 50 lap races each paying $10,000 (making the promised $20,000 to win), but after the first race the felid was completely inverted making the winner of race one start last in race two and so on. The 2011 Billy Bob is back on Friday Sept. 30th and Saturday Oct. 1st with $20,000 to win.
Australian Firestorm
Held on July 3 every year, this race is a regular race (until this year) with a dueling fireworks show. The dueling fireworks are where two companies shoot at the same time and duel to see who wins. The fans choose and the losers are not hired again. The new part is the Australian part. This means that the Crazy Compacts will be turning right rather than left.
=="The Hidden Gem 50"==
The Hidden gem 50 is the newest race at Brushcreek. It is a $10,000 to win Late Model race scheduled for Thursday July 7th and Friday July 8th. 2011 will mark the first annual hidden gem 50.
