James Shea (born 6 June 1991) is an English footballer. He currently plays as a goalkeeper for Arsenal Career After excelling in the FA Youth Cup and Premier Academy League winning-side of 2008-09, James played six times for Arsenal Reserves in 2009-10, signing a new contract with Arsenal in February 2011. His first inclusion in the first team squad was against West Bromwich Albion in the Football League Cup in September 2009. Shea is eligible for both England and the Republic of Ireland at international level, although he has yet to play at any level for either nation. On 18 February 2011, Shea was loaned out to Southampton for a month;<ref name = "Saints"/> however he was shortly recalled without playing for the "Saints" after was injured against Barcelona. Arsene Wenger has stated due to Shea's lack of first team experience he will bring in an emergency loan goalkeeper and keep Shea as third choice keeper.
