The “No Touch” Technique
Eid performs penile prosthesis implantation surgeries with a technique, developed by him, known as the “No Touch” Surgical Technique for Penile Prosthesis Implantation to minimize the risk of infection associated with this procedure. The “No Touch” Technique uses precautions throughout the procedure to avoid direct and indirect contact between the prosthesis and skin, the source of infection-causing bacteria. Eid has conducted extensive research on his theory that bacteria on the skin causes the infection. His procedure has an infection rate of 0.46%, opposed to 5% among tradition implant procedure.<ref name="Eid 2011 5-8"/>
