Institute of Contemporary European Studies - iCES

The Institute of Contemporary European Studies (iCES) at EBS London is located in Regent's Park in central London, England. iCES is the first Research Institute of the EBS London London which was established in 1979, and is a constituent school of Regent's College.


The Institute is famous for organising the prestigious Jean Monnet Lecture and Europe in the World Lectures. iCES joins a large pool of British Universities that centre its activities around the organisation of talks and conferences honouring Jean Monnet's work. In this respect, the Institute has organised conferences on themes such as European enlargment and European integration and it is part of a wide network of European institutions and business partnerships. The events carried out at iCES represent an expression of the development of high-profile European debates on the constitution, identity and development of Europe. Speakers from the Directorate-General for Education at the Council of Europe have supported the consolidation of iCES in its aims to promote knoweldge on European integration, dialogue and awareness of multicultural identities within Europe.

The Institute of Contemporary European Studies is a research institute focussing on European partnerships, high-caliber Lecture Series and academic publications that contribute to the debate on contemporary Europe. The Institute of Contemporary European Studies is organised as a network of activities at the centre of which is the iCES Annual Review .

Established in 2008 by Professor Michael Scriven iCES joins a select pool of European Universities that contribute to the debate on contemporary European Studies.

The Institute of Contemporary European Studies is famous for organising the prestigious Jean Monnet Lecture and Europe in the World Lecture.
