Manish Thapa (Nepal) is currently a Visiting Fellow at Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at University of Notre Dame & Ph.D. candidate in International Studies at the University of Tokyo working on his dissertation From Bullet to Ballot: The Politics of Peacemaking in Nepal. He received his Bachelors degree in Development Studies from Kathmandu University, and Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies from Austria’s European Peace University. He was recipient of prestigious Sauvé Scholar 2006 -2007 at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is now serving as an Executive Director of and Regional Coordinator of South Asian Regional Cooperation Academic Network (SARCAN). He is also co-chair of Internal Conflict Commission at International Peace Research Association (IPRA) & council member of . He founded Nepal Peace Initiative Alliance in 2005 which was instrumental in the establishment of Ministry of Peace & Reconstruction in Nepal. He also played a key role in establishing Conflict, Peace & Development Studies Program at Tribhuvan University, where he is associated as core faculty member. He is also Visiting Faculty at Nepal Army Command & Staff College.
