Extentia Information Technology is a global software development and consulting organisation delivering IT solutions to clients primarily in Europe and North America. Founded in 1998, Extentia is headquartered in Pune, India and has offices in Germany, the US and the UK. Extentia is a Microsoft Gold Certified partner. Corporate social responsibility program Extentia has a social responsibility program, called Sakaar. Sakaar is an entirely voluntary organization. The name Sakaar is derived from the Hindi to ‘realize, fulfill or achieve’. The program aims to create social awareness and to help the underprivileged in Pune, India, and to provide support to charitable institutions in Pune. The first program initiated by Sakaar on 31st December 2001 was a food-donation drive at the Mother Teresa Home, undertaken in collaboration with the Sadhu Vaswani Mission. The activities and archievements the Sakaar Team has made so far make this program well known in Pune. These ongoing activities comprehend: * Sakaar regularly assists the National Association for the Blind (NAB), a home for the aging blind, by ordering a number of items made by the NAB residents. * Sakaar has also garnered resources for the Wagholi Ashram which houses and educates over 350 abandoned and orphaned children, so that they receive their regular supplies of vegetables and milk on a sustained basis. * In association with the Soroptimist International Club of Poona, Sakaar has sponsored the education for 6 girls under their "Girl Child Program". * In recognition and support of World AIDS Day on December 1st, several Sakaar members took time to participate in the “Race against AIDS” - a charity run to spread social awareness about HIV/AIDS. * Every Christmas, Sakaar volunteers go carol singing to old age homes like the Sandhya Old Age Home and the Isha Prema Ashram Internship Programm: CONNECT Extentia has established an international internship programm and offers several internship opportunities throughout the year in both marketing and software development positions. These internship positions are open for foreign graduate and post-graduates students. The internship intends to give the intern an insight into the work of a typical indian software development company and the indian culture as well. The CONNECT Programm drew special attention in 2007 when delegates from Fachhochschule Neu Ulm, a leading Business School in Germany, visited Extentia to expand internship and student exchange programs in India. Related companies In January 2008, Extentia Unternehmensberatung GmbH was launched in Germany. In February 2008, Extentia launched Extencore , an engineering consultancy based in Pune, India.
