IEEE Technical Committee on RFID

The IEEE Technical Committee on RFID (CRFID) is a technical committee of the IEEE, and functions under the IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB). The committee deals with technology matters related to radio frequency identification (RFID), an automatic identification method for retrieving and accessing data using RFID tags or transponders.
These systems include tags, readers, and associated interfaces. Applications include
* Identification
* Tracking
* Asset Management
* Security & Verification
* Logistics, Access Control
* Location
* Authentication
Functions of the committee include projects such as
*Publications
*Public outreach via web-based and other media
*Conferences
*Educational tools
*Standards sponsoring and coordination
*Broad regional/international communication of the mission
The Committee’s voting members must be Graduate Student Member, Member, Senior Member or Fellow grade.
* One Liaison each from IEEE Education Activities Board (EAB), IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board (MGA), IEEE Publications Services and Products Board (PSPB); IEEE Standards Association and IEEE-USA
* TAB Secretary (or designee)
