Hypography A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography", i.e. a list of links to electronic resources related to any topic.
The term was coined in 1999 by Tormod Guldvog, who then went on to launch a site of hypographies on May 17, 2000. Since then it has blossomed into one of the most intellectually rich and diverse online science communities on the Internet. One of the most successful off shoots of Hypography would have to be its Science Forums, which by June 2006 had over 6,500 topics with over 110,000 posts made by its 3,646 Members.
Under the slogan "Science for everyone", the site aims to help spread the interest for science and technology in all varieties. Emphasis is put on the enjoyment of science, by guiding the user to interesting sites, along with daily news, frequent book reviews, and challenging science quizzes.
Today Hypography is very much a community effort. Many members contribute content on a regular basis and the site is growing organically.
