Self Service Science Forum

Self Service Science Forum (sometimes abbreviated SSSF) Although Dr Karl doesn't visit the forum, it has a solid community of fifty to a hundred regulars who drop in each day to answer questions and discuss topics related to science or technology.
The site is moderated by ABC Science Online, commonly referred to as "The Lab".
The forum regulars generally limit discussion in the threads to science related issues, although the site has gained a reputation for occasionally hosting broad ranging discussions, covering topics from philosophy and religion, Andre Rieu, bullying through to controversial cricket incidents and Jessica Watson.
The forum has a FAQ section and archives going back to 1999. It is closely connected with two other ABC science-related forums: Tech Talk and Scribbly Gum. Tech Talk is a forum for everyone with an interest in (or a problem with) digital technology, while the Scribbly Gum Forum is dedicated to people who find joy in observing events in the natural world. The SSSF forum also has close connections with the ABC "News in Science" website which is a news service specialising in recent advances in science, and with Dr Karl's home page with links to podcasts.
The forum was given a makeover on the 10th of November 2010.
