Helen L. Harkness, Ph.D. is an American researcher, author and career change expert who has developed a number of systems for identifying, evaluating, and implementing career change, primarily in adults who have been successful in one field and who seek a capstone career, usually following a passion or an emerging interest. Harkness began her work in career change after her own career as a teacher, college administrator and business woman. Her Ph.D. is in Philosophy from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
Dr. Harkness currently has three books in print as eBooks - The Career Chase, Don't Stop the Career Clock, and Capitalizing on Career Chaos. She founded her business, Career Design Associates, Inc., in 1978, and continues to teach as an adjunct faculty member at Southern Methodist University. She regularly contributes articles and information to the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Association of Career Professionals International.
