Fob Five

Introduction


The Fob Five a group of South Asian entertainers that have gained much popularity in the United States due to their internet viral videos. They are known for their acting in SNL type comedy sketches and have developed a huge fan base in the recent past couple years. They are gaining tremendous popularity amongst the South Asian youth in America due to their pioneering hit single "The Infamous FOB" which was released in 2006. They are based in New Jersey and the majority of their fans are in the Tri-State Area. They were awarded the "Golden Award" from the South Asian Institute of Entertainment for their excellent work in representing South Asians in the United States. They have amassed hundreds of thousands of views on a variety of their videos. They have performed at huge venues such as "2007 Midsummer Masala Day at Six Flags" and they were the opening act in the "2008 Unforgettable Concert Tour". They have also performed with the likes of various famous Bollywood actors such as Amitabh Bachan, Amrita Rao, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri, and Arjun Rampal. They are also known to perform shows at special occasions such as weddings and corporate dinners.

Members


The Fob Five Consist of five members that go by the Alias Gaynish, J-Zed. Bobinder, Malik P, and Akhan. The names that they have chosen are somewhat of a pun for Indian names and the names of many rap superstars. They all currently reside in New Jersey where they are all attending college.
