2012 United States Presidential election YouTube parodies

During 2012, citizens of the United States picked incumbent and Democratic nominee Barack Obama over Republican nominee Mitt Romney in the 2012 United States Presidential election. Obama and Romney were parodied several times prior to the election on YouTube by several popular YouTube channels including College Humor, What's Trending and Epic Rap Battles of History. Mitt Romney was portrayed by several different actors, while Barack Obama was mostly portrayed by Iman Crosson.
Gangnam Style parodies
College Humor later released a parody of the song on October 2, 2012 (October 8, 2012 on YouTube) using Mitt Romney to be the center of the video instead of the Gangnam District in South Korea. Mitt Romney Style has received over 14.4 million views compared to Obama Styles 3.6 million views. published an online article on the two parodies. The article featured a poll, which showed that the audiences enjoyed Mitt Romney Style over Obama Style. Crosson uploaded Obama's Complete Victory Speech: Obama Wins the 2012 Election - SPOOF, following Obama's victory speech.
Epic Rap Battles of History
Crosson once again portrayed Obama in an episode of the popular web series Epic Rap Battles of History. In the video, Obama battle rapped against Mitt Romney who was portrayed by Lloyd Ahlquist, and Abraham Lincoln who was portrayed by Peter Shukoff.
Other parodies
Barack's Dubs, a popular YouTube channel, created two videos featuring Barack Obama and Mitt Romney speeches to create cover songs of Katy Perry's Hot and Cold and Miley Cyrus's Party in the USA. The Barack's Dubs channel also uploaded several other covers of popular songs, using only Obama. Hugh Atkin also uploaded U Didn't Build That, a parody of MC Hammer's U Can't Touch This, and Will The Real Mitt Romney Please Stand Up, a parody of Eminem's The Real Slim Shady.<ref name=TPP/>
