FanBusking

FanBusking is a new marketing strategy being employed by musicians. FanBusking is a portmanteau of the words "fan" and "busking", and indicates the combination of the typical social media action of becoming a fan of an artist (on social media such as Facebook or Twitter) with the traditional busking. In FanBusking, rather than seeking monetary contributions, musicians seek social media support by displaying a QR code at their busking venue, inviting passersby to scan the code with their mobile device to bring them to the musicans' social media page.
The technique was developed by Andy and Kat Wyeth.
