RingDNA is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that sells telephony-based software for sales and marketing teams. It was founded by entrepreneur Howard Brown in 2012. History RingDNA was founded in 2012 by Howard Brown with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. Prior to founding RingDNA, Brown sold his first company, 4Therapy to CRC Health Corp., a Bain Capital Company in 2008, which CRC CEO Barry Karlin named as the company’s best acquisition. Brown went on to serve as CRC’s top marketing executive before founding his own marketing consultancy, Demand Results. The DemandResults team tested the waters by building a mobile CRM app called RingDNA and testing it at Salesforce’s 2011 Dreamforce Hackathon. RingDNA won first place. After branching RingDNA off into a separate company in 2012, RingDNA went on to acquire $1.9 million in seed funding. RingDNA’s first product was a free iPad app that enabled Salesforce users to make and take calls, and save data to their CRM from the mobile device, which the company debuted at LeadsCon in March of 2012. The company then launched a mobile CRM app for iPhone in May of 2013. In September of 2013, the company launched a softphone app for the Chrome browser that displays contextual information about prospects from Salesforce, Google AdWords, Facebook, Twitter and Chatter. Products RingDNA offers a series of tools for sales and marketers including a mobile CRM app for inside sales reps, which automatically logs calls in the Salesforce CRM while displaying a sales prospect’s contact history, purchase history and social feeds from Facebook, Twitter and Chatter. RingDNA’s product uses Twilio’s iOS Client in order to enable reps to make and take calls from iPads. RingDNA’s Softphone is a VoIP app for Google Chrome that also allows users to make calls directly from Salesforce, leave pre-recorded voicemails and view prospects’ Twitter and Facebook feeds during calls. RingDNA’s marketing platform automates the capture of activity data and marketing campaign data. Awards RingDNA’s mobile call center app won first prize in Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce Hackathon in 2011. In 2012, RingDNA was selected as one of four companies to compete in TMC’s StartupCamp at ITEXPO in Austin, Texas and won first place.
