Amplitood is an online platform following the wave of Web 2.0, showcasing hand-selected musicians that are unsigned and without a professional recording label. Founded by entrepreneurs, Stephen Cheung and Eric Woo, Amplitood quickly became a leading online phenomenon in 2009 and continued to acquire unsigned artists discovered at live shows, on YouTube, and within other media outlets. Amplitood features independent and unsigned musical recordings and music streams through an extensive review by the Music Professionals Committee (MPC). The internal committee at Amplitood screens and rates each submitted artist before inviting them to be featured. In February 2010, Amplitood was acquired by SMS and mobile marketing solutions firm, Go Live! Mobile.
