Biography
Edward Eksi 1 October 1950 Graphic Designer / Illustrator. Studied Graphic Design, Calligraphy, Illustration, Print Making, Photography. Even before graduating from Marmara University, with BA in Graphic Design he worked for Ankara Agency, Graphicsel Agency in Istanbul.
He was known for his logo designs, poster designs and highly detailed Corvette illustrations drawn attention among Corvette owners. His automobile artworks are collectible among car owners.
He designed for many US Companies including Maersk, Hertz Rent a Car, Met Life, Guardian Insurance, K-Line, Candid Litho , Weatherproof, and many others. His design works and logo designs appeared in many publication across the globe. His design works involved brochures, posters, logos for Hertz for 14 years. He also created part of corporate identification book for hertz together with Landor Agency.
Bodybuilding Career
He was very athletic in his early life, playing soccer and gymnastic was his highest hobby, later he started to lift weights at age 12, after learning from one of the muscle magazines that he could be stronger by lifting weights to help his soccer. At the age of 16 while he was doing gymnastic at local YMCA he met Ahmet Enunlu one of his best friend and training partner to be, Ahmet invited him to Tagar Gymnastic Center, and he started to workout there on and of but after 1970’s he totally dedicated himself to Bodybuilding he tried to compete for National Championship and finally became Mr. Turkey in 1975 and went to Pretoria, South Africa for famous Mr. Universe, Mr. Olympia first time held together by IFBB, International Federation of BodyBuilders also this competition was based on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Pumping Iron Movie. He met Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane, Lou Ferrigno, Franco Colombu, Serge Nubret, Mike Mentzer, Robby Robinson, Mike Katz, Albert Beckles, Ken Waller, Paul Grant, Ed Corney, and many famous bodybuilders and traveled with them for 2 weeks in South Africa, Mozambic and Cruger Park. He also appeared in the bonus section of the Pumping Iron DVD. He trained with Enunlu many more years Traveled in Europe with Mr. World Dave Draper and competed, in IFBB Mr. Universe, and WABBA Mr. Universe.
