Dr Meaker is a 7 piece DnB, soul and dubstep group from Bristol, which is led, co-written and produced by Clive Meaker. Dr Meaker, the group's first album, was officially released on November 17, 2008; it was mixed in the same studios as Portishead’s ‘Dummy’. This was self-funded and released on their own record label Flightcase Recordings. In November 2009, they released a selection of acoustic and jazz covers from the album called 'Lesson From The Speaker Acoustic Sessions EP' which was, in part, recorded in the town of Bath and which involved Jazz musicians. The EP was well received with airplay on Jazz FM and 6Music Band members include (Ben Wood), keys (Clive Meaker), drums, guitar (Nigel Fulcher), bass (Rob Childs) and an vocalist (Lorna King) plus occasionally an mc. The record 'All For You', with Yolanda Quartey on vocals, was used at the end of the television programme Skins series 2, Episode 5 on the international version of the DVD. This garnered them support from Latin America as well as Australia and other release territories including the UK.
