Dinesh Vaghela

Dineshchandra Babulal Vaghela (born March 9, 1951) is currently a National Executive Member and the Head of National Disciplinary Action Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Previously he was involved in the J.P. Narayan Movement, Gramdan Movement, Navnirman Movement and also campaigned for the Right to Information Act (RTI).
In 2012, he was given the responsibility of establishing AAP in Gujarat and Goa.
Early life
Vaghela ran away from home at the age of 11. He made a living by working part-time at a roadside tea-stall in Dhrangadhra Taluka in Surendranagar District and graduated with B.A. in Philosophy from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidhyanagar, Kheda district. He was fortunate enough to proceed on the path of spirituality under the guidance of J Krishnamurti, U. G. Krishnamurti, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and Vimala Thakar.
In 1979, Vaghela established a tile manufacturing business in Goa and settled there. In 1990, he got married and had two sons. He was involved in many social activities and was also a member of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust (founded by Baba Ramdev) in Goa. He shared the stage with the yoga guru during his visit there. This activism drew Arvind Kejriwal and Anna’s attention when they conceived India Against Corruption.
