Peter Sain ley Berry

Peter Sain ley Berry (b. 1946) is a Briton who is editor of the internet journal EuropaWorld (which he co-founded with Annie Ansari in 2000), regular contributor to the internet daily EUObserver with his weekly comments on the European Union and to other publications.
He graduated in Natural Sciences from Peterhouse, Cambridge in 1968 and worked for a decade as a civil servant in London and Cardiff. After that he began advising business in the European Union on public sector funding, including European programmes. Since 1993 has been a member of the European Commission’s panel of expert speakers on European issues.
In politics he began as Liberal Party member, in 1981 he co-founded the Social Democratic Party (SDP), for which he also was a parliamentary candidate. After an alliance (1983-1988) the parties merged as Liberal Democrats.
Peter Sain ley Berry also represented as Honorary Secretary the Wales Council of the European Movement in the European Convention. He was also involved with the Welsh Centre for International Affairs and was the Secretary of the Lloyd George Society. He is a member of the Wales Committee for UNESCO.
He lives in South Wales, is married and has two grownup daughters.
