Digital Innovations

Digital Innovations (DI) is a consumer electronics company that produces the SkipDR, CleanDr, ScreenDr and numerous other product lines. It sells a broad line of electronics and computer peripherals under the Digital Innovations and Micro Innovations brands. Digital Innovations is distinguished by its use of Open Innovation and Crowd Sourcing techniques in bringing products to market, as well as its prominent use of open source software and Open Source Hardware. In its development model, end users are involved throughout the product development process from reviewing initial concepts to Beta testing initial product releases.
History
Digital Innovations was founded by Joe Born and Collin Anderson in 1995 in Chicago, Illinois and achieved initial success by selling CD and DVD scratch repair devices. In December 1998, Digital Innovations first product, the SkipDR was released to the market. By 2002, distribution had grown to approximately 25,000 retail outlets, primarily in North America
In December 2003, the Neuros division of Digital Innovations was spun off into a separate entity, leaving Digital Innovations with the accessory brands including SkipDoctor and others, and with Neuros managing and producing the digital media products.
In February 2009, Digital Innovations acquired Micro Innovations. expanding the breadth of its line to include computer peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and others.
