Dean Johnston

Dr. Johnston trained at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a Medical Doctor and on staff at Orlando's premier hospitals, is the chairman of plastic surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Despite a busy practice, Dr. Johnston makes time to serve as chairman of the Plastic Surgery department at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He has become a very notable person by saving lives, and reconstructing lives, through his efforts in the emergency department to treat trauma patients who otherwise would not have benefited from treatment by a plastic surgeon.
“I believe that a child who has been bit by a dog or involved in a car accident deserves the expertise of a board-certified plastic surgeon,” he says. “Through my trauma work, I am able to touch people at a point in their lives when they most need help and a friend. The work I do stays with them for the rest of their lives. I feel fortunate to be able to have that level of impact.”
Recently recognized by Orlando Magazine as a “Top Doctor,” Dr. Johnston was also honored by his peers as a “National Hero in the Plastic Surgery Community” for his efforts in patient safety.
Dr. Johnston is a native Floridian. Born and raised in Orlando, a Boone High School graduate, he comes from a long line of Healthcare professionals. His father and brother are distinguished surgeons and his mother, two sisters and wife are Registered Nurses. Medicine has long been his calling and given him fulfillment in helping others. Dr. Johnston considers himself to be particularly fortunate to have his wife, Kathy work along side him as his nurse and Practice Concierge.

Dr. Johnston received the Orlando Style Magazine award for the Reader's Choice Award for 2009 for Best Plastic Surgeon.
